Profile of Alpha Youth Group History Alpha Youth Group was formed in the year 2009 by ten (10) members and it has been active since then, its membership has been growing gradually. Mission/Vision The mission of Alpha Youth Group is to create an enabling environment for the youth of Likoni to help them enhance their career and life skills development. Management Alpha Youth Group is run and managed by board members who consist of Chairman, Program Officer the Secretary, Treasurer and two members, they meet on monthly basis to discuss programmatic issues and any other emerging issues that has impact on the group, the report created in the meeting is shared with the members during the following meeting. Membership Alpha membership is free but once you become a member you are entitled to paying 100 Kshs every month, this contribution is kept for future use. All members must attend the fortnightly meeting which is always done on Friday. Activities The group has been actively participating in community activities; • Conducting mass outreaches addressing Drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and STIs, Behavior change, Self esteem among others. • Conducting School outreaches. • Participating in community services like beach clean-up, Barazas and any other public events which can be utilized in reaching people with behavior change communication.
